Disneyland Disneyland Disneyland

Yesterday we went to Disneyland. We all had so much fun but with two small children.. well a toddler and a baby it can be exhausting!! Here are the highlights;

Around Two o'clock there was a parade/steam boat show for the upcoming movie The Princess and the Frog. There was all kinds of music and dancing and Riley just loved it. She was on Mikes shoulders so she would have a good view but she wanted down to dance. So here is my little two year old dancing away and she looks over her shoulder and sees this lady. Well truth be told she looked fairly young so maybe she was a "girl". Whatever. Anyway, Riley looks at her and says, "Come on! Dance!". Then Riley would dance for about 30 seconds and turn around and tell her to dance again. And again. And again. It was soo adorable. She had us all laughing. And, finally, after asking a fair few times, the girl DID dance.

Once upon a time, a very good friend of mine, and HUGE Disney fan told me that he just loves being at Dinseyland. He doesn't even need to go on rides it is just the atmosphere. I didn't understand it then but I definitely do now. I think we rode Pirates of the Caribbean, Winnie the Pooh and Mike and Riley rode the roller coaster in Toon Town. Riley LOVES Tigger. And because of this love for Tigger, we rode Winnie the Pooh...FIVE times. We went once in the afternoon and then moved on. But after the parade at night, she asked to go on again. We made our way to the ride and when we got there, Logan was asleep. I sat with Logan and Mike took Riley on the ride. After they got off, Riley came to me and said, "Again, mommy?" And really, how was I going to resist?? So I took her... twice. Then Mike took her again. I think it is safe to say that Winnie the Pooh is her FAVORITE ride.

It was parade time on Main street and Mike had Riley on his shoulders and I had Logan on my hip. Of course Riley was dancing and pointing out her favorite characters (Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Daisy, Donald, Goofy, Pluto, Tigger and Pooh). There were all kinda of dancers that would come and go. These dancers were obviously Logan's favorite. At one point, he was stretched out so far toward them I almost had trouble with balance! It was definately a very successful trip to the happiest place on earth!

And, in other news, Logan's second tooth came in!

Random Things

Today, I bashed my foot on the TV or wall.. I don't remember. Anyway, after I bashed my foot, I said, "OUCH!". Riley responded, "What happened, Mama?". I told her I had hit my foot on something. Then she said something, ran over to me and kissed my foot. I realised then that she had said, "kiss!". Everytime Riley gets hurt we kiss her owie. And she does the same. She is such a cutie!!

Long before I had kids, I always heard about the terrible two's. They haven't really hit yet here in the Alfonso house. Riley is just as sweet as sweet can be. I get so many hugs and kisses through out the day, and occasionally, out of nowhere I get an, "I love you, mommy!". She is also such a great big sister! She loves finding toys for Logan to play with and will tell me when Logan is "mad" (crying) so that I know he needs attention. I do hear that three in the new two though so.. who knows what the future shall bring.

I was awakened this morning to a very happy and playful little guy. At 4:30! This does NOT make my day as I need my sleep. He was telling me all sorts of things, but mainly he would say "dadadada daaaaa da daaaadadada". That's his favorite word and it is just precious!

It should come as no shock to anyone that I kiss on my kids all day long! But lately, when I quickly give Logan lots of kisses on his face, he smiles and will sometimes even laugh! I love it!

I Am In Trouble NOW!

It has started!! My sweet Jack Logan has started pulling up. He has been pulling up to his knees for the last... I dunno week or so but today was the day he found out what his soft little (wait no..that kid has MONSTER) feet are for. This kid isn't even six months old yet and he is crawling like a maniac and is pulling up! Two words, OH BOY!

Last night I made chicken, asparagus and some pasta for dinner. I didn't do anything new to the chicken, it was baked in foil with some spices but Riley LOVED it. She ate more chicken than me!! She just kept saying, "more, more mommy!". I dunno if it is a good thing to feel good about your cooking skills when your two year old thinks it is so good that she can't get enough but I am gonna take the compliment!

I put some Christmas lights up around the house the other night. I put some up around a window in our living room and put some around my sliding glass door in my room. Hey, I love Christmas lights and since I am an adult, I can put them any place I feel like, no judging! I am pleased to announce, Riley seems to love them more than I do (which may or may not be possible!). And you know, even Logan loves looking at the bright lights. I also put up our tree. It is small, 32 inches and on our kitchen table but really!!! Logan would have probably knocked over a big one with all his mobile-ness and curiosity. It's fiber optic and amazing. Riley loves that, too. But the bad part is, she gets on the table a million times a day wanting to touch it. Fun times!

I am shocked!

Logan just fell asleep all by himself. I put him down in his bed (for the first time people!) and set my timer for 15 minutes. Almost 15 minutes to the second of fussing, he was asleep!!! The transition from sleeping with mommy to sleeping in bed with Riley was long and painful. I love my Logie boy, he is such trooper!!!!

TEETH!

Our sweet Logie boy has a tooth!!!! Riley didn't get her first tooth until she was 8 months old, and one turned into 4 within two weeks. No wonder the little dude was awake at 4:30 this morning.

Super Woman = Mommy

This morning Riley woke up rather early. Again with the conversation about what sounds animals make. I thought I would change it up and ask her what Riley says. She replied "I love you, mommy." Very. Very. Heartwarming!!

For awhile there, we were all quick sick. Our little guy had an eye infection and double ear infection, ouch! Mike and Riley went to pick up Logans prescription and when the they asked if they were there for Jack's prescription, Riley quickly corrected her, "Jack Logan!"

Today after returning from our Thanksgiving feast at my sisters house I was carrying Riley, Logan in his carseat and the diaper bag. Now let me tell you, Riley is 28 pounds. Logan is about 18 pounds I would guess plus the carseat.. no idea how much that weighs but combine the carseat and Logan.. it is heavy! I said to Riley, "Dang I must be super woman! Can you say super woman?". She did say super woman. She said, "Mommy."

Now, normally I post about what my children did or said to make my day. There was one more thing that really and truely made my day today. I had a very long and much needed chat with my best friend! This very much made my day!

I Love You, Logan!

This morning, I woke up to a very smiley and talkative baby. It didn't take all that long for him to wake his sister up with all his babbling. Riley hopped into bed with us and made a beeline for Logan. She gave him a BIG hug and I hear "I love you, Logan". Totally heart melting!

A couple of days ago, Mike and I were able to go see a movie (yay New Moon!) My sister agreed to watch the babies. Being that she has no children of her own...this makes her brave! My little girl has just gotten so big and grown up. I told her we were leaving and she just turned around, waved and said, "byyyye!".

This isn't something Riley said but it was a wonderful moment for me anyway. Our whole family has been VERY sick. Hence the lack of updates. Riley got hit hard by whatever this was (supposedly bacterial bronchitis and the flu) and was very clingy. Twice, in a short number of days, Riley just sat down with me and fell asleep. When you have a baby, at least when I had mine, there is/was nothing better than having a baby sleeping on your chest. As they get older this happens less and less. And our Riley girl, she hasn't cuddled up with us and gone to sleep in close to a year. Precious moments.

About a week ago, Mike and Riley had an adventure. They went to the grocery store. While in line a woman turned around and commented "Aw, she is so cute." Riley replied "I'm Logan's sister!"

I call Logan a little charmer. He is EVERYWHERE!! So fast with the crawling and what not, it is pretty much time to get the baby gates up. When he is crawling around playing, if you call his name, he will just look and at you and give you a big smile. And when this kid smiles, it shows on every inch of his face. I will have to get some pictures of this up!

That's all I can think of at the moment, check back. Hopefully I will post twice today!

Phone Calls and Late Night Conversations.

Life becomes very interesting when you little bundle of joy starts talking. Riley is in the stage where she is starting to lose her baby words for things. While this is slightly sad, it is also fun because you can have conversations with her. Last night with I was getting ready for bed I heard the cute little voice of Riley saying, "Momma? What's a pig say?? OINK OINK!" We talk about animals and the sounds they make many times a day and with her cute little sickee tired voice, it made our little conversation all the more precious. So after the pig I asked her what dogs, froggies, kitties, bees and all sorts of other animals say. A complete random topic for 11:30 at night but it was so cute.

This morning while I was sleeping, (something that makes my day almost everyday, Mike hangs out with the kids in the morning before he goes to sleep so I can sleep while he gets his "just Daddy, Riley and Logan" time) our house phone rang. Mike went to get find one of our cordless phones while, unknown to him, Riley was holding a phone that was right next to where he had been sitting. What he also was unaware of was that Riley had answered the phone. My dear friend Elise was on the other end when Riley said "Hello?". Apparently, Riley then started to follow Mike around saying "here". Needless to say, by the time Mike finally realized she had the phone, he had a laughing Elise on the other side.

A start

Ok, so I started this little blog deal and now I will start sharing some stuff that has made my day... so to speak over the last few days. As we have all had the plague, (aka we were and still are incredibly sick)we have had to bring out the dreaded bulb. For anyone without kids this little device is used to clear ickiness from a little persons nose. Basically. It is a torture tool. I finally decided, ok, it is time to use this thing on Riley. Poor girl, I just KNEW she would hate it and really...what kid is gonna like that??? So as we had to literally hold her down because let me tell you she can really fight that thing, she starts crying and telling me "No, mommy!!! It's Logans turn! It's Logans turn!" Now, this doesn't "make my day" so to speak but it was so funny! Already trying to pass things off on her little brother, that stinker! In other news Logan said "da da" today. Mike swears he said "ma ma" a few minutes earlier but what I heard that time was "da da" as well. He is such a cute little dude! Until next time!

So basically...

I have been trying to come up with something that makes my life blog worthy. Something that would give me something to write about everyday. Maybe even something that makes family and friends return to my blog occasionally. Then, it came to me. You know those status updates from your friends on sites like Facebook and Myspace?? Yeah, those. Anyway. I don't like posting a ridiculous amount of updates everyday but there are many things that go on during my day that I would love to share with my friends and family. Sooo that brought me here. In addition is being able to update those interested in the funny and cute stuff that our two little ones do on a daily basis, it is way for me to be able to look back at memories when my two little ones are not so little anymore. And there you have it.
